Set up two-factor authentication (MFA)
NEWDIH APP supports one-time codes from an authenticator app (TOTP) and backup codes. We especially recommend setting this up if you handle other people's information, such as club rosters or fees.
Setup steps
- Open Passport from the menu.
- Open two-factor authentication management.
- Scan the QR code on screen with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, etc.).
- Enter the 6-digit code shown in your authenticator app to confirm.
- Save the backup codes shown to you in a safe place (such as a password manager), not as a screenshot.
If you lose your backup codes, recovery becomes difficult.
They're your only option if you replace or lose your phone. Don't store them only on the same device as your authenticator app.

If your code doesn't work
- Authenticator apps rely on your device's clock. Set your device's time to "automatic." If it's off, the code will always fail.
- Codes rotate frequently. Use the code right after it changes, not right before it's about to change.
- If you still can't sign in, use a backup code instead.
