Announcements & broadcasts in NEWDIH APP keeps every message you send in each recipient’s inbox, one by one, and tells you how many people have read it. Replies gather in one thread per announcement, and team news can be handed to a player rep. It is part of the club features, free of charge.

01 — COMPOSE

Pick the audience,
write it, send it.

The audience is either “Whole club” or a team. The type is either “Notice” or “Schedule update”. After that you just write a title and a body and send. Because you choose the audience per announcement, you never have to push an age-group matter to everyone.

You see the reach before you send. Choose an audience and the screen tells you “This will reach N linked members.”
You also see who will miss it. Players on the roster who have not linked the app are counted as “N players are not linked and won’t receive this.”
Every coach receives it, even for a single team. You stay aware of news for age groups you don’t run, so you are never asked something you can’t answer.
Schedule posts carry a note. Choose “Schedule update” and the message tells readers to check the club calendar for the details.

02 — INBOX

Nothing scrolls away.
It stays in the inbox.

Every announcement stays in the recipient’s inbox as its own item. Unread ones carry a red dot and can be filtered with the “Unread” tab. Looking something up later never means digging through other conversations.

The unread count sits on the tab. It reads “Unread (2)” — exactly how many are still waiting.
Opening it marks it read. Nobody has to press a button, and the number of readers goes straight back to the sender.
Alerts come from the app itself. Allow notifications on the device and it tells you the moment a new announcement lands.
You can keep the nights quiet. Turn on “Do not send push notifications during these hours” and no push goes to phones in that window. The announcement still sits in the inbox and the bell, ready to read in the morning.
Old messages are still there. “Load more” walks the inbox back through everything that came before.

03 — THREAD

Replies gather
in a single thread.

You can reply to an announcement without leaving the screen. Sender and recipient look at the same single thread, so the conversation never splits in two. “My son will be late” stays right underneath the message it answers.

Coaches get a badge. You can tell at a glance which replies come from the club.
Same thread from Broadcasts or from the inbox. Sender and receiver are never looking at different conversations.
Only recipients, the sender and the club’s coaches can read it. Guessing an announcement’s id from another club reveals nothing — not even that it exists.
Past conversations stay readable after leaving. Someone removed from the roster can still read the thread, but cannot post anything new.

04 — READ RECEIPTS

Who read it
stays on record.

Broadcasts keeps a list of everything you have sent. Title, audience, type, recipients, read count and sent time sit on one row, so you never have to work out when and where a message went.

Read counts look like “31/39”. How many it reached and how many opened it, plainly. There is no room to assume everyone got it.
Unlinked members are counted too. The row keeps “(4 not linked)”, so you don’t forget the families who still need an invitation.
Coaches see every announcement. Including the ones they did not send, because running the club means knowing what went out.
Urgent news narrows down who to chase. Only the messages whose read count is lagging need a word in person.

05 — PLAYER REPS

Team news can go
through a player rep.

Assign a player rep per team and that player can send announcements to their own team only. In-house news like “tomorrow’s session moves to the gym” goes round without passing through a coach.

Only the team they were assigned to. A rep cannot send to the whole club, so the permission never grows beyond its purpose.
A rep’s name is on their announcement. The inbox shows “Name (Player rep)”, so everyone knows who wrote it.
Assign and remove from one screen. When the age group moves up and the rep changes, you swap them on the spot.
A rep only sees what they sent. The club-wide history stays with the coaches.

Each announcement stays in the inbox as its own item and is not pushed away by the next topic. Who has read it comes back as a number like “31/39”. Replies gather in one thread per announcement, so you always know which message an answer belongs to.

With “Whole club” it goes to every player registered in the club; with a team, to that team’s players. The club’s coaches receive it whatever the audience. Only people who have linked the app can receive it, and the number who have not is shown before you send.

Only a player rep assigned to a team, and only to that team. Sending to the whole club is for coaches. A rep’s history is limited to what they sent themselves.

Through in-app alerts and push notifications on the device. You can set them up from the banner in the inbox. On iPhone and iPad, add the app to the home screen and reopen it from there to receive them (iOS 16.4 or later).

Each person can tune it. With “Do not send push notifications during these hours”, no push is sent to their phone in that window — the announcement still arrives in the inbox and the bell, so it can be read later. The unread badge in the side menu can be switched off separately. And because the audience is either the whole club or a single team, news for one age group never goes to everyone.

There is a “Schedule update” type. Announcements sent that way carry a note telling readers to check the club calendar for the details. The calendar remains the source of truth for the dates themselves.
