THE PROBLEM

A “want to visit”
disappears before it’s ever said.

There’s a club you’re interested in. You’d like to see a practice, just once. But it’s hard to suddenly call an adult you’ve never met, and writing to a contact form doesn’t guarantee a reply. Without a reply, you can’t even tell whether you were turned down or simply not read yet. NEWDIH holds that one line for you and asks the club. A reply is not promised. Instead of promising one, we set a deadline. Not leaving what you’ve registered hanging in the air is the honesty we can offer here, right now.

CHANNEL 01 Register

You choose from the nationwide directory.

Registering is just picking one club and pressing the button. A note is optional, up to 500 characters. Since it’s addressed to the nationwide club directory, you can register even for a club that doesn’t use NEWDIH yet. Up to 20 can be active at once, and only 1 per club. There’s a cap because our team routes each registration to a club by hand, one at a time. Allow 100 and the queue we’re working through becomes unreadable — and in the end, nothing moves.

Right before you press it, “a reply is not promised” appears — placed where you can’t skip past it, not somewhere you’d only read afterward.

CHANNEL 03 Progress

What shows on screen is only what has happened.

A registration carries a status: Registered, Waiting for guardian confirmation, Checking with the club, The club is not taking part this season, Moved on to a practice session application — 8 in all. This status isn’t stored anywhere. What’s recorded is only the facts — “withdrawn,” “guardian tapped it,” “our team routed it to the club,” “the club answered that it can’t take you” — and the screen builds the status from those. So there’s simply no way to write “treat it as moving forward when nothing has happened.” A “not accepting” answer can also only be recorded after our team has already routed it to the club.

A finished registration doesn’t disappear either — so it never looks like “withdrawn, but is it still sitting there?”

CHANNEL 04 End

Even with no reply, it ends eventually.

A registration that sits for 90 days with nothing happening is closed from our side. One that’s stalled after our team has already routed it to the club closes in 60 days. We check for closing deadlines at a set time every day, and a closing reaches you as one notification. We don’t leave things open-ended, because we don’t promise a reply. If we’re not promising one, the least we can do is decide “when it ends” in advance. You can withdraw at any time — it disappears after passing through a confirmation screen once. A finished registration stays on record rather than being deleted, and registering again starts as a new one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q01Does it cost anything?

No. Clubs I’m interested in is a personal feature, and it’s free. It has nothing to do with which modules a club subscribes to.

Q02Isn’t this the same as “applying” or a “request to join a club”?

No. This is an expression of interest — “I’d like to visit a practice” — and a reply is not promised. Taking part in a practice session is not a transfer: you remain with your current team. Joining a club or transferring to one isn’t part of this registration. Anything beyond that is a conversation you’d have directly with the club.

Q03Once I register, does the club find out right away?

No. NEWDIH holds your registration first. It only reaches the club once our team has asked them. Until then, the status on screen stays “Registered.” For a child’s registration, all the club is told is how many people are interested and their school year — not their name.

Q04The club I want isn’t in the directory.

You can only choose a club that’s listed in the directory. There’s no way for a member to add a club to the directory from their own screen. NEWDIH is the one building out the directory, and it will keep growing.

Q05Can minors use it?

If you’re 13 or older, you can register yourself. If you’re 13–17, a confirmation email goes to a guardian for each registration, and it doesn’t reach the club or our team until they tap the link. At 12 or younger, a guardian registers from their own account.

Q06Can I stop partway through?

You can withdraw at any time. It withdraws after passing through a confirmation screen once. A withdrawal stays on record as history, and if you want to register for the same club again later, it starts as a new one.
