THE PROBLEM

The day you went
stays in nobody’s records.

Players get records. Clubs get records. But the people who went to watch get nothing. The stub bends at the bottom of a wallet, the photos sink into the camera roll, and within a few years you can no longer remember who you went with. Time spent off the pitch is part of the same football life. These three screens exist to bind that one day in the smallest possible form.

Decide who you supportTHE CLUBS

First, who do you support?

From a nationwide list of clubs, pick the club you support and the club you came from. There are two ties you can record: “I support them” and “My former club”. Put in even one, and the “Support” menu that was folded away opens right there. It does not matter whether that club uses NEWDIH. The list is one shared list for the whole country, so clubs that are not in the app yet can still be picked.

Even when the list is tidied up by merging duplicates, the club you registered carries over to the new row.

Keep the day you watchedTHE MATCH LOG

All you need is the date.

To keep one match, all you need is the date. The ground, who played whom, the score — write only what you know. Seat, who you went with, one line. You can write companions by name (the people you go with usually do not have an account). A match watched on TV, with no ground and no teams, sits in the same list as one entry.

“Who you went with” is not tied to an ID. With my wife, with my dad, with my second son — you just write it.

Set foot in the groundTHE PILGRIMAGE

One entry for each time you stood there.

Pick a ground and check in. You can list the grounds nearest to you, but it is you — not the app — who decides which one to stamp. It is not unusual for several grounds to sit on exactly the same coordinates, so location alone can never narrow it down to one. Whether your position was read, whether the distance needed confirming, or whether you used no location at all: three ways of checking in, kept one by one. Checking in from far away is never rejected.

The map fills upTHE CONQUEST MAP

Only the prefectures you visited get a name.

As check-ins pile up, the prefectures you have visited are filled in on the map of Japan and only those carry a label. The ones you have not been to stay blank. The map uses the real shapes of all 47 prefectures, with Okinawa in its own inset. So that colour is never the only carrier of meaning, a list of prefecture names and ground counts always sits beneath the map. Drawing it never asks an outside server for anything.

A prefecture with a label is a prefecture you have been to. The first time you open the map, Japan is completely blank.

Footsteps overlapTHE OTHERS

All that shows is ground and count.

How many other members have set foot in the same ground. They are listed most-visited first. That is as far as it goes: who came, and when, is never shown. Because no individual appears, there is no screen asking whether you agree to be shown. Only members can see this list.

The subject is the place, not the person. That is why no consent and no age check are needed.

What we do not keepWHAT WE DON'T KEEP

We keep the stub. Not what is inside.

A record of the day you went to watch sits right next to your family’s faces and your children’s photos. So from the start it was built to hold no originals. What stays is the date, the place, and the line you wrote that day.

  • No photos, no tickets

    NEWDIH is an index, not a vault. There has never been a way to upload photos or ticket images into a match log.

  • A match date has no time

    Only “that day” is kept. What time you watched is not recorded.

  • Check-in times are not device-reported

    When you checked in is kept using the server’s clock. It is not built so it can be rewritten afterwards.

  • Grounds and clubs carry their source

    Whenever a row from the nationwide list is shown, the source and a note that it has been edited are always attached.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q01Does it cost anything?

No. Clubs you support, the match log and the Ground Map are all personal features, and they are free. It has nothing to do with which modules your club subscribes to. Note that these are Lifeballer-mode screens: add Lifeballer in your Passport and you can reach them from the mode switch in the header.

Q02Can I register a club that does not use NEWDIH?

Yes. You pick from a single nationwide list, not only from clubs that have adopted the app. Clubs that are not on the list yet will keep being added.

Q03Can I keep photos or images of tickets?

No. There has never been an inlet for taking in the originals. The record of the day you went to watch sits right next to your family photos, so NEWDIH is built as an index, not a vault.

Q04Can it happen that I am at the ground but cannot check in?

No. It is not built to reject a check-in because of distance. If location is unavailable you can check in manually, and even a rough reading still leaves a record. You do, however, choose which ground you are checking in at yourself.

Q05Can other people tell that I went?

No. “Where members have been” shows only the ground names and the total number of visits; it never shows who came or when. The match log and your check-ins themselves are readable only by you.

Q06What happens if I delete a record?

It disappears from the list. You can check in again at the same ground on the same day. For both the match log and your check-ins, the only things you can delete are your own.
