Video or Photo Upload Fails

Check these from the top. Almost every case comes down to one of these four things.

1. Is the format correct?

  • Video: MP4 / MOV / WebM
  • Image: JPEG / PNG / WebP / HEIC

Anything else (AVI, MKV, etc.) needs to be converted before uploading.

2. Does it fit the size and length limits?

  • Up to 1GB per file
  • Up to 60 minutes per video

If a full match goes over the limit, split it into first and second halves.

3. Do you have storage left?

Check your usage under Settings → Storage.

  • "Storage limit reached" … Delete media you don't need, or add more storage.
  • "You're in the grace period" … You can keep going for a few more days, but organize your files or add storage before it ends.

For details, see Check and increase your storage.

4. Is your connection stable?

  • Try using Wi-Fi instead of a mobile connection.
  • Don't close the screen while uploading. Sending the app to the background can cause the upload to stop partway through.
  • The temporary permission used for uploading has an expiration time. If too much time passes after selecting your file, start over from the beginning.
It's fine to delete a video that's stuck in "Error" status.
Uploading it again will create it fresh. Data left incomplete and unattended is cleaned up automatically.
